During the first three weeks of class, you will learn to use WordPress by building the entire Wordville website as described in our text, WordPress Explained. Many students can complete this task in under four hours, but others may take longer. Break up your work, and start early, since you will have other assignments due during the first three weeks as well.
If something in WordPress Explained doesn’t make sense or is out of date, refer to my PDF of changes, rub some Google on it, and then contact me for guidance.
- Sign up with the Pantheon service for creating WordPress websites: https://pantheon.io/register

Assignment Credit Requirements
- [ ] Every week, for the first three weeks, you must submit the URL to your Wordville site in Blackboard as you progress from page 21 thru page 259 in WordPress Explained. The course schedule has suggested amounts to cover each week, but you can cover more at a time if you are able.
- [ ] Your website must contain all elements described in WordPress Explained. See pages 256-259 to check. The required pages are listed below.

- [ ] News page with at least four posts
- [ ] About
- [ ] Location
- [ ] Attractions and its subpages: Aquarium, Museum, Zoo
- [ ] Contact
- [ ] You should be using the images and text provided from OS Training, although you can add more or make small changes along the way that add to, not diminish, the design. Your site should basically look like the pictures on pages 256-259 of the book by the end.
Note: The Yoast plugin is not required for this assignment, but please install the Yoast plugin as described at the end of the book. We will use it later this semester.
