In this project, you will start with an existing design and work to improve it. You may choose from a variety of print products and websites and can use InDesign, XD, or Axure to execute a redesign. You do not have to write out all the text in your redesign. You can use placeholder text for everything except important headings. For this project to be successful, you must use Gestalt principles of design, a consistent color palette, and techniques designed to engage a particular audience. You will need to justify your redesign in a short memo.
Redesigns are typical activities for information designers or technical communicators to complete. Materials might be out of date or do not include new, relevant information. Sometimes, a company rebrands itself. This is a very typical exercise in the real world.
That said, even if you are designing a project from scratch, it is customary to look up models of of the deliverable you have to create. You do not copy those models, but you use them as inspiration. This assignment gives you practice using a model and improving on it.
To complete this assignment, you must choose one artifact and then redesign it. The list below is all image files, but some of the image files are of web pages. For longer webpages, you may choose to only redesign portions of the page. If you are not sure how much is enough, ask me. Generally, you will need to do the top section, at least one middle section, and the bottom footer, but it depends on your design.
You may choose to redesign your chosen artifact in whatever tool you feel is appropriate (presumably the tool you did the tutorial in earlier in the unit).
<aside> 💡 If you want to choose your own artifact outside of the options in this list, you may, but you must get your artifact approved by me before starting to work on it.

You will submit two main items for this assignment: a file or link to your redesigned deliverable AND a short memo describing your design choices.
