Grading contract to download, read, and sign:

Grading-Contract-3368-Summer2022.docx

In this class, I comment on all your work but do not assign grades to assignments. Your final grade is determined by your on-time completion of the required work and the revision of any work that does not meet the requirements. You can raise your grade by earning A-level credit, as stipulated in our grading contract.

I assess your work this way so you can focus on trying new things and taking risks with new genres without worrying about what grade you will receive. I want you to be able to take in my comments and suggestions without getting distracted by a grade. I also want you to concentrate more on the real or imagined audience for the work you are creating rather than trying to figure out how to please me.

At the beginning of the semester, you must read through the contract, sign it electronically, and turn it in on Blackboard. I will also encourage you to review the contract at the beginning of every unit. If you understand the contract, you should know exactly the grade you have at any time.

I will mark your assignments as Credit, Revise, No Credit, or Credit+A in Blackboard.

A-Level Credit

To earn an A, you must earn at least two Credit+A assessments. To learn how to earn an A, visit this page:
